US Army Coins

US Army Coins

There are special coins minted for the US army. These coins are called the US army coins. They are minted by special mints and the design of the coins is such that the copy rights of the coins lie only with the US army. The coins are very special and they are given out to all the officers from their respective units. Most of the people who know about the ranks of the officers in the army can just take a look at the coins and tell which rank the owning officer of the coin belongs to. The logo of the rank is imprinted on one side with the logo of the unit while on the other side the motto of the unit is present.

These special coins are kept sacredly by the officers even after retirement. Most of the officers keep these coins in their pockets even after retirement so as to prove their identity if needed anywhere. Each officer has at least half a dozen of these coins with him that are given to him through out his military career which begins as a junior officer and then goes as high as the senior most rank. There are some special coins in addition to these rank coins that are awarded to the officers for the special efforts they have made through out their careers at different points in time. These coins are more like medals and are the juice of their careers. The US army coins are very sacred for all the officers who have been a part of the military unit any time during their lives.
